Good Guys Wear Black Podcast (Ancient Faith Radio), 19 December 2016
Fr. Anthony Perkins

On St. Michael’s Day of 2012, the parish of St. Michael the Archangel (UOC-USA) in Woonsocket, RI suffered tremendous damage from a fire. In this podcast, Fr. Anthony, the priest of St. Michael’s at that time, shares hard-earned advice on preparing for, dealing with, and recovering from parish disasters. The most important advice? Keep the One Thing Needful top on the list of priorities at every step of the process.

Here are the notes from the homily I gave the Sunday after the fire.

Here is a video of that service.

Here is a video of the Divine Liturgy the morning of the fire.  It was held in the building right across the driveway from where the church was pretty much still smoking.

You can also browse through the parish’s YouTube channel to see videos of the recovery and rebuilding effort (sort oldest to newest).  Glory to God, the parish moved back into the church building on Nativity of 2014 and the parish has continued to move onward and upward under the spiritual leadership of their new priest, Fr. Borislav Kroner.
